Our Latest Completed Whanganui Building Projects

What started as a single home sitting on an underutilised 1,012sqm section is now a prime example of smart urban infill. Our client saw the untapped potential of their unused land, and together, Venture Build brought two brand-new townhouses to life on Carson Street – managing the entire process from initial feasibility right through to key handover.

This featured 3-bedroom home was crafted specifically for easy, open-plan living. At its heart is a good sized kitchen that flows seamlessly into the main living, paired with smart storage solutions throughout. Each double bedroom features built-in wardrobes, complemented by a separate toilet and a dedicated laundry with direct outdoor access. It’s a clean, functional build that proves just how much value you can unlock right in your own backyard.

Right next door on the exact same plot of land sits the second half of this infill project: a brand-new 2-bedroom townhouse built simultaneously with its 3-bedroom neighbor. Our client recognised a clear shift in the market and smartly chose to offer both two- and three-bedroom options. With Whanganui’s aging population, we’re seeing a growing demand for smaller, low-maintenance, and healthy living spaces that make downsizing feel like an upgrade rather than a compromise.

Smaller square footage doesn’t mean sacrificing comfort or space. In this build, we placed a major emphasis on storage throughout the floor plan, ensuring every square meter works efficiently. The bedrooms are generous double rooms with custom built-in wardrobes, while the kitchen layout was carefully planned from the initial design phase to reflect how people actually cook, entertain, and live today.

Rounding out our trio of completed builds this week is a transformation over on Rangitikei Street in Whanganui East. Rather than leaving an existing garage underutilised, our client saw the value in converting the structure into a brand-new two-bedroom rental unit.

The transformation started from the bones up. We began by reinforcing the structure, followed by installing fresh exterior cladding, modern joinery, and energy-efficient windows and doors. From there, the full internal fit-out was completed to bring the unit up to Healthy Homes standards. Designed to make every single square metre count, the final result features a functional kitchen, open-plan dining and living, clever integrated storage, and two comfortable bedrooms – turning an ordinary garage into a warm, high-yielding home.
